Septic System are not just a place that stores your waste, they are complex systems of enzyme, bacterial and insects. The insects feeds on the good bacterial of your waste, ultimately consuming a very large (up to 70%) percent of waste in the process. Bleach and other toxic chemicals has adverse reaction on bacteria that causes the insects to die.
